Sheltering Arms is pleased to announce that Susan Magazine will be joining the Sheltering Arms team as Chief Development Officer. Ms. Magazine is a leader in the nonprofit field and brings an impressive track record in child welfare. Most recently, Ms. Magazine served as the Director of Development for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), where she built and implemented a strategic development plan focused on implementing best practices for engaging new and current Board members; recruiting and leading a professional development team; revamping and overseeing the Young Leadership Division; and identifying, cultivating, and securing leadership gifts.
Prior to ADL, Ms. Magazine served as the Executive Director of New Yorkers for Children (NYFC) for 13 years, providing leadership, management, and strategic direction for this $4.5 million non-profit partner to New York City’s child welfare agency. At NYFC, Ms. Magazine directed the strategic vision for all fundraising, and led the development and implementation of innovative and robust fundraising strategies.
Ms. Magazine joins Sheltering Arms at a key moment in our organization’s history, as we implement our new strategic plan, aimed at strengthening Sheltering Arms’ long-term sustainability. We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Magazine and her depth of expertise to the Sheltering Arms team.
