Foster Care & Adoption

Children entering foster care with Sheltering Arms find safe, nurturing, and supportive alternatives to their prior environments where they have often faced significant challenges.

Sheltering Arms guides youth during difficult transitions between living situations with individualized care provided by staff trained in the latest evidence-based treatment models. We strive to place children in the best, most stable option—whether it be a carefully selected foster parent, adoptive family, or in a group home. Each year, nearly 500 children ages 0-21 find their family through Sheltering Arms.

Our staff provide hands-on training and constant support needed by foster and adoptive parents to build strong, long lasting relationships with emotionally vulnerable children. Find out more about changing a child’s life as a foster or adoptive parent.
